Cheryl Maloney, proprietor, is from Chicago, Illinois and has trained and instructed throughout the U.S. and England. She combines a British Horse Society (BHS) accreditation and over 20 years teaching experience, running the Stanford Riding School program for the last 12 years. She brings vast knowledge of techniques to develop overall horsemanship. Her extremely detailed instruction and lesson plans involving both horse and rider, afford riders of all levels an understanding of true horsemanship.
Sara Williams, a California native , ‘A’ level Pony Club graduate and Pony Club Examiner has competed through Preliminary Level Eventing and 2nd Level Dressage. She has 10 years teaching experience and is a traveling groom for International 3-Day Event competitor, Gina Miles. Sara’s teaching incorporates effective exercise techniques for a balanced seat.
Sarah Platshon is the newest edition to Maloney’s Horses and Ponies and is a native of the Bay Area. Sarah started her love for riding at a very early age with her career starting at the age of eight as a working student for local Webb Ranch. Sarah continued to progress in her riding while working at Stanford Equestrian Center with Cheryl Maloney and Sara Williams and began a successful show career competing in both show jumping and eventing. While attending the University of Colorado in Boulder, Sarah continued her success competing up the levels of eventing in addition to training and showing sale horses for Triple Creek Ranch. After graduating with a degree in Environmental Design & Architecture, Sarah has returned back to the Bay Area to pursue her teaching and training career. Sarah is extremely dedicated to the correct riding and training of all the horses she works with in addition to a teaching style that provides all of her students with a deep understanding of the importance of proper balanced riding to ensure the best development for the horse.
